Army Goodwill School (AGS), Ahagam, located in the village of Ahagam in District Shopian, was established as part of the Indian Army’s Operation Sadbhavana to provide quality education in conflict-affected areas. The school serves as an important bridge between the community and educational development, especially for students from weaker financial backgrounds.

The school was launched on 1 April 1998 with the objective of bringing stability, opportunity, and learning to areas heavily impacted by terrorism and unrest. It was formally inaugurated by the then Home Minister Shri L.K. Advani Ji on 07 May 2000.
